An ongoing practice which I have developed as a research tool is my ‘body mapping’ sketchbook process. Each day in the studio, I imagine the page as a mirror of my body and mark the points on that page where I experience emotions, sensations, or symptoms. I then connect the dots, forming abstracted shapes. Often, I accompany these sketches with reflective diary entries. These sketchbook pages form the basis of much of my practice.
